Two new accelerators are focusing their attention on LATAM founders, bringing valuable resources and attention to startups in the region. Here are the details:
LatAM Base Camp Accelerator Program: A partnership between Outlier Ventures and Morgan Creek Digital, focusing on nurturing blockchain and Web3 startups in Latin America.
Lumx LATAM Acceleration Fund by Polygon: An initiative to support innovative projects in the Web3 space across Latin America, providing mentorship, funding, and access to a global network.

👾 The chismecito of what was most mentioned at EthCC 2024
EthCC 2024 in Brussels was brimming with ideas and visions for the future of Ethereum and blockchain in general. Let's dive into the hot topics, we bring summary for our community!
UX, Mobile and Consumer dApps: While the user experience has improved, we still need more consumer apps to keep users engaged. It's not just about improving infrastructure, we need apps that people actually want to use, it's clear that the next big challenge will be to create captivating and engaging apps.
AI and Blockchain, A Perfect Pack: The merger of AI and blockchain promises to open up new dimensions for dApps. From enhanced security to process automation, AI could be the secret ingredient that elevates blockchain to the next level. Although we are still in the early stages, the excitement around this integration is palpable.
L2 Security and collaboration: L2 rollups are crucial to Ethereum's scalability, but security and transparency remain top priorities. At EthCC, particular emphasis was placed on improving fraud-proof systems and increasing collaboration between L2 teams. Of particular note were updates to Superchain, Arbitrum's Orbit and ZK Stack.
Muchos, muchísimos side events: This year, the side events took center stage. With so many scheduled, choosing which ones to attend was a challenge. However, the variety of these events, coupled with their relaxed atmosphere and easy accessibility, allowed those without tickets to the main event to still engage in valuable exchanges.
🎯And what about the user experience - UX?
As many of you know, User Experience (UX) has been a hot topic within our Web3 Familia activations across the world. This focus is so central to our community that we've even named our conference series "Web3 Familia UX Con" for this year. It's a narrative that's been resonating throughout 2024 and was particularly evident at ETHCC.
A major highlight in UX improvement is Account Abstraction (AA), which simplifies the handling of private keys and transactions, making DApps more user-friendly. This technology enables smart accounts that interact directly with smart contracts, eliminating the need for manual private key management. This enhances security and creates a smoother experience, similar to traditional Web2 applications. The rise of mobile DApps is another key development, making blockchain technology accessible to users on the go.
Leaders like MetaMask, Coinbase, Privy, Zero Dev, etc are pioneering smart contract account solutions to improve the user experience. Even Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin emphasized the importance of focusing on UX to overcome scalability challenges.
The industry's commitment to UX isn't just talk; it's an active effort to make Web3 as accessible as possible. This collective action shows that we're moving beyond discussions to implementing real solutions, paving the way for broader adoption. By prioritizing intuitive and secure interfaces, developers can attract a diverse user base, ensuring that everyone can benefit from blockchain technology without facing technical hurdles.

Hey Sofía! Thanks for joining us. Can you share your experience at ETHCC and with the Talent Protocol scholarship?
Sofía: It was incredible to be so far from home thanks to the Talent Protocol scholarship. I learned an amazing amount of new things and met wonderful people, both professionally and personally. It was impressive how much you can learn in such a short time while having so much fun.
This was your first hackathon, and you made it to the top 10 finalists at ETHGlobal. What surprised you most about this experience?
Sofía: I was amazed by the overall collaboration. Even though it's a competition, everyone was more than willing to help and collaborate on each other's projects, regardless of being in separate teams.
We know you're exploring new opportunities. What kind of roles are you interested in within the Web3 ecosystem?
Sofía: I'm very interested in keep working in data science, but I'm also want to keep working on the business side. I love learning new things and taking on challenging roles.
