What are you working on now?

AGENTEBTC is working to further unify key points in Peru while expanding into key territories in Latin America, specifically Mexico and Honduras. One of AGENTEBTC's main functions is to provide the gateway of opportunity that cryptocurrency technology offers to more locations in the country. That's why we have over 11,000 recharge points throughout Peru. Furthermore, our strong partnership with MOTIV continues to enable and support these agents of change within the Latin American ecosystem.

What motivated you to start your company?

The story begins in 2016 with Victor, a young entrepreneur who met someone in Canada who gave him "a couple" of Bitcoins. This encounter sparked his interest in studying this technology further, and he discovered a world full of opportunities and tools capable of improving the future of both my country and LATAM. Currently, Peru, despite having one of the strongest currencies in Latin America, is still plagued by informality, corruption, economic inequality, and inflation. After a brief stint in Fintech, Victor returned to Peru with the goal of pursuing entrepreneurship. He established a cryptocurrency mining farm and embarked on starting his own business.

What has surprised you in the Web3 space?

The amount of innovation and the lack of support for emerging markets like LATAM. It’s like the rest of the world doesn't know what is happening in LATAM.

What are you reading right now? (crypto-related)

Currently reading The Crypto Multiplier by BIS and Emerging Markets, those papers are really useful for insights. And I never got enough of Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas M. Antonopoulus.
